Vienna Boylesque Festival
The first Vienna Boylesque Festival took place in 2014 – and instantly proved to be a huge success. The two-day event is hosted by Austria’s only Boylesque artist Jacques Patriaque, and focuses on Burlesque, Boylesque, Vaudeville and everything in between. Visitors can look forward to an outlandish mix of humor, erotic dancing and music! The Vienna Boylesque Festival unites exceptional artists with an extraordinary audience. BFV is one the world’s few burlesque festivals that features artists from both the well-established female and emerging male burlesque communities with an aim to challenge notions of gender.
For one week each year the Vienna Boylesque Festival will deliver world-class progressive performance art from burlesque artists, drag artists, dancers, and beyond to an international audience in Vienna. Through expression, exploration and discussion it will help forward positive attitudes to bodies, sex, and gender across Austria, Europe, and the World. The Festival is proud to call Vienna it’s home and will work with the city, community organisations and companies to deliver cultural and economic benefits to the region.
